His film music has received awards from all over the world and in 1970 his score for Love Story secured him his only Oscar.
Bilitis is a coming of age story centring on the exploits of a young girl during a summer vacation. This expertly crafted arrangement for soprano cornet and brass band is of the film's main title theme.
