This arrangement has been made from Barry Gray's original  hand written manuscript.

Barry Gray may not be the most familiar of names, however he wrote the music for many of the productions of the legendary late producer Gerry Anderson. Television series such as Fireball XL5, Stingray, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, UFO, and of course, Thunderbirds which in 2015 celebrates 50 years since its first broadcast.

If you like any of the above tunes, your bands and audiences will love this one.

Philip Harper, Conductor of The Cory Band, and Editor of Brass Band World” who recently rehearsed this work commented - “as we started playing we could all hear Barry Gray's unique voice in the music!”-

THUNDERBIRDS
1965 (32 Episodes)

Without a shadow of a doubt this is the most famous and iconic of all Gerry Anderson’s Supermarionation series, as popular now as it was when first screened. The idea for the series was conceived from a real-life mining disaster in Germany, and originally intended to be a 30 minute series, like Stingray and Fireball XLS. However, TV executive Lew Grade was so impressed, he wanted the series extended to an hour format, despite nine episodes already having been completed. The rest is history. Not everyone knows Barry Gray’s name, but everyone knows his theme for Thunderbirds!

International Rescue is the dream of billionaire retired astronaut Jeff Tracy. From his island in the South Pacific, and with the help of his five sons; Scott Virgil, Alan, Gordon, John and scientist ‘Brains’, he has created the Thunderbirds: five unique machines that are able to provide immediate rescue for anyone in trouble, anywhere across the world.

Supporting International Rescue is a team of agents, based across the world, the most famous being London agent, Lady Penelope, and her butler/chauffeur, Parker. With her distinctive pink Rolls Royce car, FAB1, these two characters have a popularity that has extended well beyond the series itself.

Thunderbirds was the 7 Anderson IV series with music by Barry Gray. The score called for the biggest orchestra he had used so far, and with it he was able to create the military sound Anderson had asked for. On December
8th 1964, the main title theme for Thunderbirds was heard for the first time, and recorded at Olympic Studios in London.
